Erasmus Students - Accommodation for September 2013
Make sure you have applied for an Erasmus placement at the University of Salford before booking your Erasmus accommodation.
We are delighted to offer Erasmus and Exchange students a range of contract periods to make the transition from their own University to Salford University a much easier process.
The houses which are especially for Erasmus and Exchange students are based at Castle Irwell which also has BBQ areas and sports facilities on site. Castle Irwell has a Reception and Resident Life Support Officers who will help you settle in and offer help if you need it.
Castle Irwell - what is included ?
Your weekly rent of £66.01 at Castle Irwell will include :
- A study bedroom in a Castle Irwell house
- A fitted kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer
- Contents insurance to the value of £3500
- Free membership of the Sports Centre (£20 activation fee applies)
- All utilities are included
- 24/7 broadband internet access
- Each bedroom has a washbasin and mirror
We have bedding packs available, at a cost of £20, which include a duvet, duvet cover, pillow, pillow case and sheet. To book a pack and have it ready in your room when you arrive, visit the University shop.
Our houses at Castle Irwell have eleven bedrooms and you will share bathroom and kitchen facilities with other Erasmus students.
Please note all houses are non smoking.
Availability is limited so please apply as soon as your Erasmus or Exchange placement is confirmed.
To Apply
Use the on line application system, first of all you will need to create a user name and password.
On the online application form there is an option to select that you are an Erasmus Student. You can then select the dates you will require accommodation with us. Erasmus students arriving in September 2013 for semester one will only be able to stay in accommodation until the 20th December 2013 or 18th of January 2014. If you wish to stay beyond these dates, please contact accommodation@salford.ac.uk.
Please note; if your contract includes Christmas or Easter vacations, you do not need to move out of the accommodation during these periods, as they will be included in your accommodation fees.

If all the Erasmus and Exchange houses are fully booked for the period you require we will contact you and advise of alternative accommodation.

University of Salford Students
If you have already booked accommodation or have an accommodation contract with us, please do not worry that you will not be able to take part in the Erasmus programme. We will need to receive either an email or letter from your tutor confirming that you are taking part and the date it will start. We will then release you from your contract the weekend before the placement starts.
As this is a new initiative we hope it will be popular and offer Erasmus students a better service. If there is any way it could be further improved please let your tutor know or you can email accommodation@salford.ac.uk
